The Crisp County School District is pleased to announce that our very own Crisp County High School Band Director, Mr. Dominique Lane, has been named a Quarterfinalist for the 2027 Music Educator Award!
This award recognizes current educators (kindergarten through college and public and private schools) who have made a significant and lasting contribution to the field of music education and who demonstrate a commitment to the broader cause of maintaining education in the schools.
The CCHS Band has been under the leadership and direction of Mr. Lane since the 2019-2020 school year.
Mr. Lane says he is blessed and honored to be receiving this prestigious recognition.
"Being selected as a Quarterfinalist for the Grammy Music Educator Award from a pool of more than 2,000 applicants is both an incredible feeling and a tremendous honor. I am truly elated by this recognition and incredibly grateful for the opportunity to represent my students, school, and community through music education," Mr.Lane said.
This is truly a remarkable accomplishment, as Mr. Lane is one of 202 music teachers across the country to be selected.
Semifinalists will be announced in September.
