Back in May, we first told you that our very own Crisp County High School Band Director, Mr. Dominique Lane, was named a Quarterfinalist for the 2027 Music Educator Award
CCHS Band Director Named 2027 Music Educator Award Quarterfinalist
We are pleased to announce that he has now been named a Semifinalist in the competition. This award recognizes current educators who have made a significant, lasting contribution to music education.
This is truly a remarkable accomplishment, as only 25 educators across the country were named semifinalists, with over 2,000 initial submissions.
The CCHS Band has been under the leadership and direction of Mr. Lane since the 2019-2020 school year.
After being named a quarterfinalist, Mr. Lane says he is blessed and honored to be receiving this prestigious recognition.
"Being selected as a Quarterfinalist for the Grammy Music Educator Award from a pool of more than 2,000 applicants is both an incredible feeling and a tremendous honor. I am truly elated by this recognition and incredibly grateful for the opportunity to represent my students, school, and community through music education," Mr.Lane said.
Finalists will be announced in November.
