Dr. Brandon Williams photoThe Crisp County Board of Education is one step away from completing its superintendent search. On Wednesday, May 14, 2025 during a called meeting, they announced Dr. Brandon Williams, a very familiar face, as their sole finalist for the top leadership position. After announcing the sole finalist for the superintendent position, Georgia law requires school boards to allow at least 14 days for public comment before voting on final approval. This will take place at a called meeting on May 28, 2025 at 6:30 p.m.

Dr. Brandon Williams joined Crisp County School System in 2004, and serves as the Assistant Superintendent leading the Teaching and Learning as well as Student Services departments. Williams' professional career spans across 20 years in the field of education, and all in the Crisp County School System with the exception of one year in the Dougherty County School System. His experience in the education arena began as a nutrition assistant, substitute teacher, bus driver, teacher, assistant principal, and principal, all of which encouraged and motivated him to serve in his current position. Dr. Williams has earned degrees from Georgia Southwestern State University, Georgia College and State University, and Nova Southeastern University.

At the helm of Crisp County Schools, Dr. Williams will be focused on improving student achievement under the vision of “Creating a Better Crisp County Through Education”. Being reminded of something Nelson Mandela once said, Dr. Williams echoed “Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world”.  “Together, we will make Crisp County better through education, said Dr. Williams. He will continue to be available to the parents and other stakeholders to help continue the growth of this community. Throughout his career, Dr. Williams has always had time to listen to others and make decisions that were of sound judgement. His pledge to our community is to listen to understand, learn to inform decisions, build for trust and stronger relationships and plan for success.

He earned his Bachelor’s degree (2004) in Special Education and a Master’s degree (2006) in Behavior Disorders from Georgia Southwestern State University, then an add-on in Educational Leadership to his master’s degree. Later, (2016) he completed a Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. He loves spending time with his family, Dr. Shanekia T. Williams, his gorgeous wife, and their two sons, Bralyn and Bryce.

Dr. Williams would succeed Mrs. Cindy Hughes, who is retiring after 43 years of service to the education profession with the past six years as Superintendent for Crisp County Schools.
