Teen Maze
The Crisp County School System conducted its 3rd Teen Maze April 3-5, 2012. Students from grades 8-12 wound their way through the "maze" of stations, making important life decisions that could affect their ability to graduate on time and thereby affecting their future success.
The ultimate goal of TEEN MAZE is timely high school graduation. In the MAZE, students explore lifelike situations and their consequences (pregnancy, DUI, incarceration, death, STDs, and parenthood, & graduation) without real life permanency. Over 1300 students went through the "Maze" in 2012 and experienced their own combination of choices as they faced common choices that most students face every day. The Teen Maze opened with a skit on "Internet Bullying" and showed how the bullying lead to the death of the bullied student. Over 100 community volunteers participated in the 2012 event.
Teen Maze is a bi-annual event, with the next event planned for Spring 2014.
